1964 ½ Mustang Convertible

It is, as the plate says at 64 1/2, born on April 17,1964 in Dearborn, MI. It’s a convertible D-code 289 4bbl), automatic with factory air, power top.  IT is the original Raven Black interior and exterior.  To my knowledge, everything on it is original although the transmission was either replaced or repaired since I’ve owned it.  I have the original wheels.  Aftermarket Exhaust.   I also have the original AM radio.  I think there is also power steering.

I got the car from my uncle sometime in the 1989. I have a service record going back to October 1989.  I believe I’m the fourth owner.  The car is in good shape but has not been restored.  It’s drives well but would require a some mechanical work (I have a punch list) and paint job to make it “new”.  There is one piece of pinhole rust where a mirror was put on incorrectly.  I’ll transfer the personalized plate with the car should anyone want it.

I’m asking $22,500.   I expect to be in LA for showings on 6/27 through 7/1.

Even has the correct size 64 1/2 MUSTANG script that is written on each front fender. For some reason, in 64 1/2 the MUSTANG the letters are 4 and 3/8 inches long. However, in 65 and in 66 they were 5 inches long. Most 64 1/2 cars have naturally been repainted at least once in their lives and unfortunately the rare 64 script is thrown away and the wrong 65/66 put back on the fenders. To me, that script size tells me that whoever owned this car took great care and detail to save these highly valuable MUSTANG scripts.
